…true it does last for thirty days but then it’s gone.
It’s one of my favourite months, I’m not really sure why – maybe it’s because although it’s officially an autumn month the weather is consistently better than it is supposed to be and the sea is warm from all the summer heat – anyway I like it
Bearing this in mind we, at the purple carrot, are going into overdrive with so many things going on I can’t remember what they are, so I’ve written them down
Wednesday 4 – Free Film Night – SIDEWAYS – 8pm (grab a bite to eat beforehand, or a tempting platter to munch on while raising a glass to American dysfuntionalismness)
Thursday 5 – 8.30pm Quiz – First Thursday Top Teasing Trivia – with a jackpot round currently at over £80, questions so easy your 6 year old could answer and so hard it would need 3 rocket scientists just to give an approximation of a semblance of an answer there is something for everyone. You don’t have to have a big team to enjoy (or win) this one
Friday 6 – Kia’s leaving so pop in Friday evening to raise a glass and wish her well on the start of her next adventure, starting with teaching in the Balkans !!
Monday 9 – Breakfasts are coming. This week we’ll be trialling a breakfast service. Apparently the world does start turning before 10am on a weekday so with the help of a couple of fresh faces on the P.C. staff we will be opening our doors at 7.30 every weekday morning (possibly even earlier if there is demand) and offering up some tasty breakfast snacks – plus the usual excellent tea’s and coffee’s to help you start the day proper. More details on the food, special offers, txt ahead ordering etc will be available as soon as they are finalised, in the meantime please pop your cheery morning head in the door and see if you can raise a smile out of me working in the middle of the night…
Wednesday 11 – Women without Men – Wednesday Free Film (grab a bite to eat beforehand, or a tempting platter to munch on while tracing the intertwining lives of four women against the turbulent political backdrop of Iran’s 1953 coup.)
Friday 20 – Pop Quiz the return of popular Paul and his poptasic quiz – who would have thought one man could have so much fun in a purple suit – “entertainment not to be missed” [anonymous]
Sunday 22 – DOGS @ Wellshurst. The Decidedly Ordinary Golfers Society (DOGS) take on the challenge of finding and then playing Wellshurst golf club 9am start (ouch). £25 gets you butty, 18 holes of golf and a one course meal afterwards Further details from email@example.com or ask in the shop.
