With some exciting things to come in anniversary week,

…But in the meantime there’s a few treats this week too – plus of course a few foodie bits as well (sprouting bean veggie chilli, parsnip & parmesan or (not too) spicy lentil & bacon soup, beanburger patties, courgette & sweet potato Thai curry, courgette and sultana muffins  etc etc)

Thursday 1 May – 8.15pm

The Toptastic Trivia Quiz with the added spice of a jackpot round currently standing at over £175 and the juggernaut  that is Ali’s Angels! trying to make it three wins in a row – £2 per person.

Friday 2 May

Scrabble monsters are back for a lunchtime session – starts @12 noon anyone is welcome. Beat the proprietor for a free coffee! I’ve also just found Facebook online scrabble which is great for when you’re not there!? (Facebook Chris-at The-purpleCarrot to set up a game online)

Also on is Hassocks Robins FA presentation evening at Adastra Hall, plus the Twitten’s Studio begins its summer run in Ditchling. The Purple Carrot welcomes the Fiddy Shades o Alcohol bookclub (I see a theme emerging…) for cheeseboard and nibbles, perhaps the odd glass of wine too

 

Sunday 4 May

Our sumptuous Shakshuka brunches are starting to get noticed (9.30-12.30), so give yourself a treat from the mundane and ordinary greeezy hangover cure and bring your Sunday up to standard, and revitalise your taste buds. We also show a free childrens film from 10am – this week is the classic “How to train your dragon” – perfect with a cheese and bacon tasca or baked beans on toast, maybe a fresh croissant as well 🙂

At Hurstpierpoint Village Centre there is a comedy evening in aid of Scope – doors 7.15pm. Comedy is provided by Paul Sinha, Rich Wilson and Eddy Brimson and compared by (the now local) Komedia King Stephen Grant.  Tickets are only £10 from Indigo (Hassocks) or The Mint House (Hurstpierpoint) or online

Friday 16th – Paul’s popular Pop Quiz – doors 7.30pm – £8 with food / £4 without

Saturday 17thBarista art, (Lemon) Drizzler of the year competition, Brownie Bake- off . Are you a super baker or a super taster? Or maybe both!! whatever your talent Saturday afternoon is your chance to show it off while marvelling at some dead proper barista art from Luke @ Roasted (who supply a couple of our coffee blends)

Sunday 18th – Top Dog -DOgSociety Golf competition 2pm – £25

Tuesday 20th – Wine in the House…Should we change our house wine, and some others to.  A chance to come and taste some excellent wine with nibbles and commentary – your score on the door could be crucial – £10

 

Friday 23rd –  Hassocks Hash social run and refreshments – 7.30pm prompt
